Who they think of when they think of Showdown
I can’t remember his name! But he used to be at the bottom of the double chair (below James Bond) he’d always give me and my ex boyfriend a jokingly bad time every time we made it down there. We would always make sure to find him every weekend. (2003-2010 time frame) Dark hair, little shaggy-ish, dark mustache and beard. Good guy though!
Their favorite memory
Honestly anytime I can get on that hill and just enjoy the freedom, the family feel, how it’s like home. It’s just nostalgic. I can’t explain it, it is definitely my escape from reality. I haven’t been in many years, but need to get back, and look forward to teaching my son to snowboard too.
The craziest thing that ever happened up here
Being stuck on the double chair for like 2 hours just above the bottom part of James Bond. They were getting ready to unload us and the lift decided to start back up like nothing happened. Free hot coco at the top.

Just a few random photos from late 2000’s bummin around the hill.
This was February 2025, my friends daughter was sick for the school ski trip and my friend had never been to Showdown so I took the chance to go. My friend grew up in Hawaii so this was her first time skiing. Kealia Daniels and Victoria Daniels.
