In their words
Exactly as they wrote it
Who they think of when they think of Showdown
I think of myself, because getting out there alone and just riding in the peace and quiet is therapy. I also think about my kids because they have grown up going to Showdown with me. I’m hoping they find a love of snowboarding or skiing as well.
Their favorite memory
Watching my kids learn in the snow school, and also the Weir Memorial Rucks during the summer!
The craziest thing that ever happened up here
Some of our favorite crazy moments are the mannequin jumps! Always a crazy good time!
About the photographs
These are just some recent memories from our mountain days. Me and some of my kids learning to ski and board through the ski snow school and taking some their first rides on the lift and down the mountain! One of them is one of my favorite pictures, just me and my board taking a quick photo break enjoying the cold, crisp quiet at the top of the hill. That’s what Showdown feels like to me.
Your turn
This page fills up with whoever sends something in. If you have been up this hill — once, or every weekend for forty years — you belong on it too.
